About the ASPPA Benefits Council of Detroit

Welcome to the ABC of Detroit! Our region is replete with pension practitioners of all disciplines and, therefore, we are very excited to have an ASPPA Benefits Council in the Detroit area. We hope you will join us.

ASPPA represents the most committed individuals of the profession—those who have made a career of retirement plan and pension policy work. ASPPA Benefits Councils provide a means for retirement plan professionals and the employee benefits community to participate in and to benefit locally from ASPPA’s activities. Members are part of the diversified, technical, and highly regulated benefits industry.

The ABC of Detroit is the 16th regional affiliate in the country and received its official approval from the ASPPA Executive Committee in June 2006. Our mission for the ABC of Detroit is to serve the needs of retirement professionals in the Michigan and Northern Ohio areas. Our membership includes administrators, recordkeepers, actuaries, attorneys, CPAs, brokers, investment advisors, insurance agents and retirement plan trustees. 

Becoming an active member of the ABC of Detroit is:

• A convenient and inexpensive way to keep current in the ever-changing legislative environment;
• An opportunity to network with people in similar and complementary businesses;

• A great way to make your voice heard in Washington via direct pipeline to ASPPA’s government affairs department;

We will strive to provide educational programs covering a broad array of topics that will be of interest to those in the retirement field. We welcome participation, involvement and feedback of all local retirement plan professionals.
